SHOWstudio has just released a new mini-film called “The Left Eye”, which was directed by Lady Gaga and Nick Knight.

Entertainment Weekly – Lady Gaga set her league of little monsters atwitter last month when she let slip that she’s already completed work on the full-length follow-up to her smash debut, The Fame. That disc won’t be out until next year, though, so we have yet another stopgap from the woman who’s done as much as anyone lately to keep the music industry afloat. The Remix collects 10 club-ready interpretations of tracks from The Fame and its expanded reissue, The Fame Monster; it’s a cash grab, but one that handily reminds you how much Gaga has done to push American pop back toward the dance floor.

The best cuts — such as Starsmith’s retro-’80s take on ”Bad Romance” and a haunting version of ”Paparazzi” by Madonna collaborator Stuart Price — emphasize the contradiction at the core of Gaga’s hits, in which jubilant Eurodisco grooves can’t quite conceal a touch of stage-kid melancholy. Elsewhere you get brainless beat worship (Richard Vission’s six-minute ”Just Dance”) and iffy indie-electro experimentation (Passion Pit’s ”Telephone”). But hey, all those baby beasts need feeding, right? B–

MTV.com – Meet the newest YouTube sensation: Greyson Chance. Thanks to his performance of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” nearing 9 million views (one of those being Ellen DeGeneres), Chance is an overnight celebrity and found himself taking his first-ever plane ride to meet the comedienne on her daytime talk show Thursday (May 13).

Of his newfound fame, the sweet-faced Bieber look-alike coyly admitted that girls at his school have started paying more attention to him: “Let’s just say I’ve gotten a couple of numbers and made some new friends.”

In addition to covering Gaga, the aspiring songwriter has written two original songs called “Broken Hearts” and “Stars,” which are also posted on YouTube.

Regarding the now-famous “Paparazzi” cover, the 12-year-old said the song choice was a natural one, given that his number-one inspiration is Lady Gaga.

“I love how she’s so different, and she takes her individuality and her amazing talent and makes great songs that are catchy and that make you want to dance and maybe throw out some Ellen moves you have. I just love her individuality, the way she can harness that with her talent.”
